Check Flash es una pequeña utilidad que te ayudará a comprobar el estado de tus pendrives o memorias de estado sólido, a través de la medición de su velocidad de lectura, escritura y también del estado de todos los sectores que componen su total de almacenamiento.

Aunque cada día más baratas, no es menos cierto que transportamos mucha información en ellas ya que incluso se encuentran presentes como memoria de nuestros móviles. Si utilizamos algo como el Computer Repair Utility Kit, Opera USB o Firefox Portable, seguramente nos gustará tener a mano algo como Check Flash, para saber en que estado se encuentra nuestro pendrive.

Eso si, antes de efectuar un test hay que tener en cuenta que el test por defecto necesita revisar minuciosamente cada sector, escribiendo en el por lo que debes primero copiar tus datos al ordenador para poder efectuarlo sin perder nada. Es molesto, lo sabemos, pero también la mejor manera de comprobar el estado de tus pendrives.

Check Flash is a small portable software program for Microsoft Windows operating systems that can be used to benchmark usb flashdrives. The application will automatically recognize connected removable media devices upon startup and provide the means to run benchmark tests to test their read and write speeds. It should be noted that the default test utilize the full storage space of the usb flashdrive having the effect that all data currently stored on the flash drive will be erased.

Some tests on the other hand - like the read stability test - will keep the existing data structure unharmed. Several different test modes are available including a full erase test. The test length can be selected as well ranging from one full cycle to a manual cycle selection, a burn it mode or until the first error has been found.

The application comes with several command line parameters that can be used to control the application from the command line or batch files. The parameters could be important if the removable drive is not properly identified by the software program. The /all switch will display all drives that are currently connected to the computer system making it easy to pick the removable devices that would not have been found otherwise.

Users should be aware though that the all parameter makes it possible to pick a hard drive for testing as well which can lead to data loss.

Check Flash is an excellent program to test the speeds of USB flashdrives. The program can be directly downloaded from the developers homepage and should run on most Windows operating systems.

Hoy te apetece volver a ver una película que tienes grabada en un CD o DVD pero, a la hora de reproducirla te das cuenta que tu reproductor de DVD no puede con ella. Pruebas con el reproductor de tu PC y se ve pero mal, en especial cuando trata de reproducir las escenas que, aparentemente, se encuentran en zonas dañadas o ilegibles del DVD o CD.

Para solucionarlo, habrá que hacer una nueva copia de tu DVD o a partir del fichero de vídeo a un nuevo CD pero, …¿y si has dejado el DVD a un amigo, o bien ya no tienes el fichero de vídeo en tus unidades de disco? El último as que te queda es usar una aplicación como Durable Copy.

Durable Copy recuperará los ficheros situados en las zonas físicamente dañadas de tus CD y DVD, copiándolos directamente a uno de tus discos duros, rescatando de esta forma el fichero en su totalidad. Además, podrás hacerlo directamente desde el menú contextual del sistema.

Evidentemente, valga decir que ni intentes rescatar el contenido de un disco pisado por un rebaño de búfalos pero, en el otro 95% de los casos, es muy probable que Durable Copy rescate gran parte de los ficheros dañados en el CD o DVD y recobre la integridad de su contenido.

Nombres claros y adecuados de los dispositivos

Con USB Safely Remove, podrá encontrar fácilmente el dispositivo que necesita detener, ya que el programa detecta los nombres reales de los dispositivos conectados; aquéllos que el fabricante les da. Además usted podrá asignarles el nombre y la imagen que desee.

Otra característica que distingue a USB Safely Remove de otros programas es la ejecución de aplicaciones no sólo al conectar un dispositivo, sino también antes de retirarlo.
